Ukraine Hasn’t Started its Full Counter-Offensive Yet — Here’s How I Know

Ukrainian commander of the armed forces Valery Zaluzhny told the Washington Post he was “pissed off” by those who complained about their slow pace.

“This is not a show,” Zaluzhny said. “It’s not a show the whole world is watching and betting on or anything. Every day, every meter is given by blood.”

But here’s the thing — Ukraine hasn’t committed its whole force yet.

But the news says that Ukraine’s counteroffensive has begun, and they are making slower progress than expected!

Well, the news is kind of wrong.

Mostly wrong because they don’t have a full understanding of the playbook that Ukraine is using — which, not coincidently, is the same playbook that the U.S. Army uses for offensive combat operations.

Remember, after 2014, the U.S. performed numerous joint training exercises with the Ukrainian armed forces. These are Ukrainian soldiers with months of training in NATO warfare and Western battlefield tactics.

What we’re currently witnessing in Ukraine is an offensive task known as “exploitation.” So, while we can say that technically, the offensive has begun, we’re still in the very early stages of it.
