It’s unclear if he actually hit anything — but Rambo here would be better off with a Kalashnikov.

Just a quick laugh today folks. The New Voice of Ukraine just reported on a video of a Russian Chechen Akhmat fighter using a bow against the Ukrainian army.

First, you can watch the short video below.

(Hmm, it seems Twitter embeds are busted on this platform at the moment. Unfortunately, you’ll need to click away to watch the video):

Okay, so our Russian friend here appears to have attached a Russian improvised VOG-17 hand grenade to the end of his arrow.

The VOG-17 is a high-explosive fragmentation (HE-Frag), sometimes referred to as the Khattabka, a reference to Ibn Al-Khattab — and used by various North Caucasus rebels.

Judging from the video, the now-heavy arrow flies about 10 meters, or about a third of the distance that an average soldier can throw a hand grenade.

Not surprising since the VOG weighs about .35 kg or just under 1 lb. If your bow isn’t suited for the additional weight, the arrow is not going to go very far.

So why go to the trouble of using the bow?
