The Soviet Spy Allegations Revisited
US President Donald Trump’s recent behavior has many wondering if our commander-in-chief has been compromised by Russian security services.
Let that sink in for a minute. This is a question so insane, so implausible, and so outside the norm of the American experience, that it would be more fitting in a Marvel movie or Tom Clancy techno-thriller.
It’s an interesting question, to be sure — but it’s also a serious allegation that requires careful analysis.
Once a year, I meet with four friends who I served with in the US Air Force, who later went on to the Defense Intelligence Agency. These days, all but one is still at the agency, but anytime I’m in Washington DC, we meet at Il Piatto Italian restaurant across from Lafayette Square and discuss military technology.
