I Spotted a High-Tech Missile Warning System on Ukraine’s New F-16s
Here’s how it will help keep Ukrainian pilots alive.
When I served in the US Air Force, we were encouraged to “pixel peep.” That is to say, we analyzed images and videos of Russian and Chinese weapon systems very closely looking for intelligence on these adversary systems.
That obscure skill I picked up on active duty is still coming in handy.
Those of us who follow Ukraine military news closely caught a glimpse of an extremely high-tech piece of equipment, shown on a Ukrainian F-16, in a passing video shared by Militarnyi.
Apparently, the Danes donated their F-16s to Ukraine with a cutting-edge missile warning system that will make Ukrainian pilots much safer in the skies.
Ukraine is having a good week, folks.
First, they received their inaugural batch of F-16s. Then, they sink a Russian Kilo-class submarine (and kill four S-400 Triumf systems) with HIMARS, all in the last few days.
On August 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the arrival of the first group of F-16 fighter jets, which, by the way, now proudly sport Ukrainian livery.
