Fact-Checking Putin’s Unhinged, Lie-Filled Speech

In case you missed it, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin just gave a completely off-the-rails speech that shows he’s committed to his path of dismantling Russia from the inside.

When I say “off-the-rails” I mean worse than an Ohio train derailment.

In this state of the nation address, he continued to vomit lies to an alarmingly credulous audience proving the often-repeated quote from Nazi dirtbag Joseph Goebbels that “if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

So, let’s break down some of Putin’s biggest falsehoods and set the record straight.

Putin’s words in italics:

Let me remind you that back in 2014, the Kyiv regime sent its artillery, tanks, and warplanes to fight in Donbas. We all remember the aerial footage of airstrikes targeting Donetsk. Other cities also suffered from airstrikes. In 2015, they tried to mount a frontal assault against Donbas again, while keeping the blockade in place and continuing to shell and terrorize civilians.

Whoa, slow down Vlad. The civilians in the Donbas lived in peace under Ukrainian rule. It was the November 2013 Euromaidan protests and the ouster of Russia-puppet Yanukovych that caused you to send your “little green men” in to…
