Did Ukraine Just Invade Russia with Ground Troops?

Details are sparse — but something big is happening in Kursk.

Russia announced today that it was fighting an unprecedented cross-border incursion from Ukrainian forces, complete with armored vehicles and aerial support.

Putin didn’t mince words, labeling it a major provocation, and swiftly ordered reinforcements to the region.

Excuse me while I put on my boots because the bullsh*t is getting thick.

The shirtless equine aficionado calling this a “major provocation” is rich coming from a guy with a track record of invading his neighbors.

Still, Kyiv has yet to acknowledge this operation. The Ukrainian military appears to have rightly adopted a strategy of strict silence on the situation at the border and its General Staff has not acknowledged any operation is underway.

If it’s confirmed by Ukraine, it would signal a dramatic shift in their strategy. Ukrainian forces have maintained a defensive posture over the summer across key territories in the east, so this move might suggest a bold, new approach to the conflict.

After all, Ukraine is having a pretty good week. Why not strike while the iron is hot?

As of this writing, the situation on the ground in the Kursk region remains murky — as do Ukraine’s strategic goals.

For instance, is this an intended strike against Russian natural gas lines in the region? If so, could drones…
