America is About to F**K Around and Find Out (about a second Trump term)
A second Trump term would be the effective end of our democracy. Why aren’t people listening?
Forgive this short digression from my normal Ukraine War analysis:
As a military veteran who served for 10 years across two different branches, I feel obligated to vocalize my Republican credentials — my [ahem] qualifications — to talk about how dangerous Trump is to our continued Republic.
I can hear it now: Aren’t you being a little dramatic, Wes? How bad could a second Trump presidency be?
Fuck around and find out.
The first presidential election I was old enough to vote in was the 2000 Bush/Gore debacle.
I voted for Bush (I know, my bad) because I was in the military at the time and Republicans were historically pro-military.
Slick Willy Clinton had just closed a bunch of military installations in 1995 through the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process.
Obviously, Democrats were bad for national defense, otherwise why close so many bases?
(I didn’t know it at the time, but BRAC was a bipartisan process with multiple rounds of closures, three of which occurred under Republican presidents.)
